Embung Nagari Pakandangan Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, juga memberikan manfaatkan ganda. Sebab, embung tempat penampungan air hujan itu, juga dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat wisata. Karena fungsi dari embung itu, kolam penampungan air hujan atau aliran permukaan saat musim hujan. Dan, airnya bisa dimanfaatkan untuk mengaliri tanaman pada musim kemarau.
Manfaat lain, dengan selesai embung Nagari Pakandangan, akan menjadi danau buatan yang akan dikunjungi warga. Sebab, tempat penampungan air itu, akan menjadi lokasi wisata perbukitan yang dikelilingi sawah menghijau. Pastinya, dengan banyak kunjungan warga, akan berimbas makin meningkatkan ekonomi penduduk setempat. Disamping bercocok tanam, bisa bekerja sampingan berjualan.
