Nama Novri Hendri yang akrab dipanggil Novri Investigasi, sudah tak asing lagi di dunia wartawan, khususnya di Sumbar. Wartawan pertama membuka media, berkaitan dengan pemberitaan proyek, Bakinnews ini, lakek tangannya, sudah dikenal orang. Bahkan, bersama Hidayat, SS, MA, sekarang Ketua Fraksi Gerindra DPRD Sumbar, ia juga mendirikan Media Binnews, sebelum mendirikan Media Investigasi tahun 2007.
Banyak korban berjatuhan selama ia menjalani profesi sebagai Wartawan Investigasi. Beberapa kasus yang dikupasnya menghantarkan mereka yang bermain di proyek ke jeruji besi. Setelah lama bergelut dengan dunia kasus, Novri Investigasi, mencoba mengarungi profesi baru. Itupun masih berkaitan dengan dunia jurnalis, sebagai penulis politik dan seniman.
Disaat media cetak, mulai terpinggirkan oleh media online, Novri tak mau latah. Ia tak mau begitu saja menggeluti media online yang rentan copy paste. Channel Investigasi TV menjadi solusi untuk mengembangkan profesi. Dalam rentan setahun, Channel Investigasi TV, sudah memenuhi syarat youtoube, yakni 1000 subscribe dan 4000 jam tayang.
Sekarang, ia sudah menikmati jerih payahnya. Ia bisa menerima hasil dari Channel Investigasi yang dikelola. Tak puas begitu saja, Novri menapak dunia politik, melalui tulisan politiknya. Bahkan, tulisan politiknya sangat dinanti. Karena, gaya bahasanya yang menarik, mudah dipahami dan enak dibaca. Dikalangan politik, nama Novri sudah tak asing lagi. Teman yang enak untuk berdebat dan mencarikan solusi
Bukan sampai disitu saja, Novri Investigasi, merangkak ke dunia seni. Ia aktif di Seniman Minang Indonesia (SMI) sebagai Sekretaris Jenderal. SMI merupakan organisasi seniman, termasuk penyanyi dan pencipta lagu Minang. Artis terkenal, Boy Shandi, Androy, Ratu Sikumbang dan pencipta lagu minang yang dikenal sebagai legenda hidup juga tergabung. Seperti Syamsir Pulungan, pencipta Lagu Ratok Pasaman.
Novri, tidak saja menciptakan lagu Minang, seperti Ratok di Pelaminan, Rumah Gadang Rang Caniago, Tasangkuik Cinto Jo Wartawan, juga menciptakan lagu dangdut, Dia Bukan Aku dan lagu Pop, Antara Padang dan Jambi. Lagu tersebut sudah di albumkan. Menariknya, Novri juga menciptakan lagu versi proyek.
Rancak Jalan Padang Painan, Abrasi Pantai Padang, Lapangan Cinduo Mato dan Pengendalian Banjir Batang Sumpur, merupakan lagu pesanan yang dibuatnya. Termasuk lagu Tokoh, seperti Andre Rosiade dan Erwin Isril. Sosok wartawan, penulis dan seniman ini, sekarang aktif di Channel Investigasi TV dan menciptakan lagu.
