PADANG, INVESTIGASI-Ratusan anak muda dari berbagai kampus di Sumatera Barat (Sumbar) mendeklarasikan diri sebagai Barisan Muda Captain (BMC) di salah satu kafe di dekat kawasan GOR Agus Salim, Padang, Minggu (5/5/2024). BMC didirikan atas inisiator beberapa organisasi mahasiswa di Sumbar.
Dalam deklarasi tersebut mereka menyatakan mendukung Epyardi Asda dan siap memenangkannya untuk menjadi Gubernur Sumbar. Poin lain deklarasi tersebut ialah menyatakan tekad menyatukan kekuatan pemuda-pemudi untuk berjalan bersama Epyardi menuju perubahan dan kebangkitan Sumbar.
“Kami pemuda-pemudi BCM menolak dan mengawasi segala macam praktik kampanye hitam guna menghindari konflik dan polarisasi masyarakat. Kami mendukung terwujudnya pemilihan kepala daerah yang aman, damai, dan berkualitas dengan tetap mempertahankan prinsip-prinsip politik akal sehat,” kata Hamzah, Ketua Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah Sumbar, salah satu inisiator BMC, saat membacakan deklarasi itu.
Dalam deklarasi BMC, Epyardi mengobrol santai dengan ratusan anak muda, yang antusias mendengarkan Epyardi bercerita. Epyardi menceritakan kisah hidupnya, dari orang sudah waktu kecil hingga menjadi orang sukses ketika dewasa. Ia mengisahkan bagaimana ia kuliah di Pendidikan Periwira Pelayaran Besar di Semarang, lalu bekerja jadi kapten kapal di Singapura dan berlayar keliling dunia, kemudian menjadi pengusaha, hingga menjadi anggota DPR dan bupati.
Dalam obrolan tersebut ada tanya jawab antara anak muda dan Epyardi. Epyardi mempersilakan anak muda untuk bertanya apa saja dan tidak tahu bertanya kepadanya karena dia tidak akan marah. Sejumlah anak muda pun berlomba untuk bertanya.
Salah satu peserta deklarasi BMC, Sadri (20), mengatakan bahwa ia mengikuti kegiatan deklarasi tersebut untuk mengetahui lebih detail tentang Epyardi sebagai bakal calon gubernur. Ia mengaku kali pertama mengenal Epyardi ketika Epyardi menjadi bakal calon Gubernur Sumbar pada 2019, tetapi saat itu tidak jadi mendaftar sebagai calon gubernur. Ia terus mengikuti kabar tentang Epyardi hingga tahu bahwa Epyardi jadi Bupati Solok dan kini menyatakan diri untuk maju sebagai calon gubernur.
“Dari kegiatan ini saya baru tahu, ternyata Pak Epyardi tidak pemarah, tidak arogan seperti yang diviralkan di media sosial. Orangnya asyik. Bisa membaur dengan anak muda,” ujar mahasiswa UIN Imam Bonjol Padang tersebut.
Jika Epyardi menjadi gubernur, Sadri berharap Epyardi memperhatikan anak muda Sumbar dalam hal pendidikan, hiburan, dan fasilitas yang menunjang kegiatan positif anak muda.
Peserta lainnya, Awang Maulana (21), mengatakan bahwa ia mengikuti kegiatan tersebut untuk memperhatikan dan menilai gagasan Epyardi sebagai calon gubernur. Menurutnya, mengetahui gagasan calon kepala daerah sangat penting sebab pemimpin menentukan masa depan anak muda.
Awang mengetahui Epyardi ketika menjadi anggota DPR RI periode ketiga (2014-2018). Sejak saat itu, ia terus mengikuti kiprah Epyardi sehingga mengenal cukup jauh sosoknya. Karena itu, ia suka kepada Epyardi karena merupakan pemimpin yang tegas.
“Pak Epyardi wajar berkarakter tegas karena lama menjadi kapten kapal. Kalau tidak tegas, ia tidak akan didengar oleh anak buah kapal. Saya suka pemimpin tegas agar didengar oleh orang,” tuturnya.
Jika Epyardi menjadi Gubernur Sumbar, Awang berharap di Sumbar banyak peluang kerja bagi anak muda sebab banyak orang Sumbar yang merantau karena peluang kerja sedikit. Rel
