Ribuan masyarakat tumpah ruah memadati kawasan Kota Tua, menyaksikan Carnaval Sepasan yang digelar oleh Himpunan Bersatu Teguh (HBT) Kota Padang, Selasa (31/12/).
Penjabat (Pj) Wali Kota Padang Andree Algamar yang hadir langsung dalam event ini menyampaikan bahwa Carnaval Sepasan merupakan salah satu agenda dalam calendar of events Pemerintah Kota Padang.
Event ini selalu ditunggu-tunggu, tidak hanya menjadi momen pelestarian budaya, tetapi juga menjadi daya tarik wisata yang memperkuat identitas Kota Padang sebagai kota yang kaya akan tradisi dan keragaman budaya.
“Semoga event ini dapat memberikan kebahagiaan bagi warga Kota Padang yang merayakan pergantian tahun, dan juga menambah kemeriahan dalam perayaan hari ulang tahun HBT ke-148,” sekaligus menyambut tahun baru 20250 ujar Pj Wako yang hadir didampingi Pj Ketua PKK Kota Padang Ny. Vanny Andree Algamar.
Sementara itu, Gubernur Sumatera Barat Mahyeldi saat membuka kegiatan menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Pemerintah Kota Padang. Apresiasi yang ditujukan atas upaya dalam menjaga dan melestarikan tradisi yang sudah ada sejak dahulu kala. –Rchrd
