Gelanggang Olah Raga (GOR) H. Agus Salim di Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat, sempat digadang gadangkan menjadi icon Ranah Minang. Sekarang, kondisinya sangat memprihatinkan seiring melorotnya prestasi Semen Padang FC terjun ke Liga 2 dan PSP Padang Liga 3. GOR H. Agus Salim yang dikelola Dispora Sumbar ini, seakan tak terawat.
Penyebabnya, GOR kebanggaan Urang Awak ini, multiguna. Tidak saja untuk pertandingan sepakbola, juga dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan lain, seperti konser. Akibatnya, rumput jadi rusak, termasuk lintas lari mengelilingi lapangan. Tak terpilihnya, GOR H. Agus Salim menjadi Home Semen Padang pada Liga 2 jadi bukti stadion ini belum layak untuk menyelenggarakan kompetisi kasta kedua PSSI.
Alhasil, untuk mengarungi kompetisi Liga 2 di Group A, bersama PSMS Medan, Sriwijaya FC dan PSPS Pekanbaru Semen Padang harus bertandang di dua stadion Jakabaring, Palembang dan Kaharuddin Stadion, Pekanbaru. Bertanding dikandang lawan, membuat langkah Kabau Sirah sebutan Semen Padang, makin berat menapak Liga 1.
Padahal, selama ini Semen Padang FC dan PSP Padang, klub yang disegani di kompetisi teratas PSSI. Baik semasa Galatama maupun Perserikatan. Bahkan, telah banyak melahirkan pelatih dan pemain nasional. Sebut saja, Yeyen Tumena, Nil Maizar dan Indra Syafri. Terpuruknya, prestasi Semen Padang FC, seiring kurang profesionalnya pengelolaan stadion itu dibawah tanggungjawab Dispora Sumbar.
Dibandingkan dengan beberapa stadion di Indonesia, GOR. H. Agus Salim jauh tertinggal. Profesional pengelolaan dan fokus untuk sepakbola, stadion termegah dibeberapa provinsi setara stadion di Eropah. Seperti Gelora Utama Bung Karno berkapasitas 76 000 penonton. Stadion ini pertama di Indonesia seluruhnya memakai Single Seat.
Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) berkapasitas 50.000 ribu penonton. GBT mirip dengan suasana di Camp Nau, markas Barcelona. Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta, markas Bali United. Stadion yang terletak Kota Anyar ini, mirip dengan Stadion Old Trafford milik Manchester United. Dan, Stadion Batakan, kandang Persiba Balikpapan. Stadion ini pertama di Indonesia tanpa trek lari dan pagar pembatas. Suasana kompetisi di Liga Inggris sangat terasa di stadion ini.
Lalu, apa masalahnya dengan Stadion GOR H. Agus Salim. Jangankan sekelas Eropah, untuk kompetisi di Indonesia, masih belum diperhitungkan. Siapa yang salah, jawabannya ada pada kita semua. Termasuk Dispora Sumbar pihak pengelola. Kadang, kita juga memanfaatkan stadion itu, untuk kegiatan lain, seperti konser. Rumput biasanya diinjak pemain sepakbola, diinjak puluhan ribu massa menyaksikan pagelaran musik.
Tak lagi dimanfaatkan semestinya. Berbisnis dilapangan untuk sepakbola dilakukan. Dana sewa tak sepadan dengan biaya perawatan. Harusnya, ini menjadi perhatian kita semua menjaga stadion kebanggaan Sumbar ini. Begitu juga pihak Dispora, jangan asal cari untung berujung buntung. Kalaupun dilibatkan pihak ketiga jelas jelas hitungan. Benahi stadion ini secara profesional.
Sehingga stadion kebanggan kita ini, dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kompetisi liga teratas PSSI. Terlalu jauh berharap selevel dengan stadion Eropah. Tapi, berbenah untuk tingkat nasional harus diupayakan. Memang Sumbar bakal memiliki Stadion Utama di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Tapi, GOR H. Agus Salim punya sejarah panjang sepakbola di Sumbar.
