Dalam relisnya mengatakan, Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) melakukan operasi tangkap tangan (OTT). Beberapa orang di lingkungan Mahkamah Agung (MA) diamankan. Salah satunya disebut hakim agung.
Kejadian ini sangat mengkhawatirkan, sekaligus menyedihkan. Hakim MA yang seharusnya menjaga gawang keadilan Indonesia ternyata masih menyimpan orang-orang yang mempermainkan keadilan itu sendiri.
Hal ini membuktikan bahwa praktik mafia peradilan di lingkungan MA masih eksis, meskipun upaya-upaya pembersihannya sudah dilakukan sejak beberapa tahun belakangan. Kejadian ini bisa pula sebagai bukti bahwa upaya-upaya pembersihan jajaran MA dari mafia peradilan hanyalah lips service belaka.
OTT tersebut juga menjadi potret bahwa sebenarnya praktik-praktik mafia peradilan di tingkat bawah (pengadilan tinggi dan pengadilan negeri/tun/agama) terjadi secara masif. Sebab, di MA saja yang konon kabarnya menjalankan sistem pengamanan yang ketat, praktik mafia peradilan masih berlangsung. Apalagi di jajaran di bawahnya (pengadilan tinggi, pengadilan negeri/tun/agama) yang memiliki sistem pengawasan yang jauh lebih longgar.
Dugaan mafia peradilan di pengadilan tinggi, pengadilan negeri/tun/agama dapat ditelusuri dari praktik-praktik.
Pertama, penundaan sidang dengan alasan yang dibuat-buat atau tidak masuk akal. Biasanya, pihak yang berperkara (terutama perkara perdata) dikondisikan untuk melakukan sesuatu agar proses persidangan berjalan sebagaimana harusnya (cepat dan sederhana);
Kedua, dalam perkara pidana, momen penahanan atau penangguhan penahanan dijadikan oleh pihak-pihak dalam mendapat uang haram dari pihak-pihak terkait;
Ketiga, penundaan pembacaan putusan. Momen ini juga sering digunakan oleh para mafia untuk menunggu-nunggu para pihak yang mau menyuap hakim baik secara langsung maupun melalui pihak-pihak lainnya seperti panitera atau panitera pengganti;
