PADANG, INVESTIGASI_ Bakal calon Wali Kota Padang, Hendri Septa Datuak Alam Batuah mengungkapkan pentingnya peran kerapatan adat untuk membentuk karakter generasi muda. Terutama, dalam mengatasi persoalan sosial yang terjadi di tengah masyarakat.
Seperti diketahui, aksi tawuran belakang marak terjadi di Kota Padang. Bahkan kenakalan remaja tersebut telah memakan korban jiwa.
Hendri Septa mengatakan, keterlibatan kerapatan adat dalam mengatasi persoalan sosial ini telah menjadi pemikirannya sejak menjabat sebagai Wakil dan wali Kota Padang periode 2019-2024.
“Sebenarnya ini sudah dari dulu menjadi pemikiran bersama. Ke depannya peran ninik mamak, Bundo Kanduang akan terus ditingkatkan dalam pendidikan generasi muda,” katanya usai menghadiri penilaian Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) Lubuk Kilangan, Selasa (20/8/2024).
Datuak Alam Batuah itu menyebutkan, dirinya selalu menggandeng ninik mamak, bundo kanduang, cadiak pandai, alim ulama dan tokoh pemuda untuk memikirkan generasi muda ke depan. Salah satunya, agar tidak terjerumus kepada hal negatif.
Salah satu keterlibatan tokoh adat dan ulama terlihat dalam pengaplikasian Muatan Lokal (Mulok) di sekolah – sekolah di Kota Padang selama ini
Maka itu, peran para tokoh kerapatan adat sangat penting bagi pembentukan generasi muda.
“Anak kemanakan kita ini terbawa arus, dalam artian ikut-ikutan atau dipaksa temannya. Sehingga dia bimbang, tidak ada pegangan. Nah, inilah peran dari ninik mamak dan bundo kanduang, terutama orang tua,” ungkap Calon Walikota Padang Padang Hebat tersebut.
Hendri Septa berharap elemen tokoh kerapatan adat dapat terus berperan untuk membentuk karakter dari generasi penerus bangsa.
Selain melibatkan kerapatan adat, Hendri Septa menjelaskan, jika dirinya kembali mendapatkan amanah memimpin Kota Padang, maka ia dan Hidayat akan menyiapkan kegiatan khusus demi meminimalisir aksi tawuran.
“Untuk TNI-Polri nanti kita siapkan kegiatan khusus yang terlibat dalam SK4, kita akan patroli di jam-jam tertentu,” pungkasnya. (*)
