Walau, masih dalam tahap pekerjaan, namun manfaatnya sangat terasa. View nan mempesona, menjadi magnit bagi warga untuk berselfi melintasi jalan itu. Keuntungan lain, jarak tempuh pun semakin singkat. Sekarang dari Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan ke Kabupaten Solok menjadi hanya 1,5 jam.
Sebelumnya, jalan sepanjang 44 kilometer ini menghubungkan kedua kabupaten itu, memakan 5 hingga 6 jam dengan rute memutar melalui Kota Padang. Itupun melintasi Sitinjau Lauik, jalan sarat tantangan.
Menariknya, dilalui jalan tersebut, makin meningkat perekonomian warga disepanjang jalan itu. Warung disepanjang jalan, tempat persinggahan pengendara menikmati jalan tembus tersebut.
“Sebelumnya, untuk ke Solok harus memutar melalui Padang, sekarang hanya butuh 1,5 jam saja. Dengan akses yang lebih cepat, bahkan bisa berbelanja alat pertanian di Solok dan kembali ke Pesisir Selatan pada hari yang sama,” kata Am salah seorang warga, sembari menikmati kopi di warung.
Tuntas Butuh Anggaran Rp35 M
Jalan berliku dengan pesona yang luar biasa itu, meskipun sudah bisa dilalui, masih ada sekitar 5,6 kilometer yang belum diaspal. Itupun membutuhkan pelebaran jalan sepanjang 625 meter.
Pemerintah Provinsi Sumatera Barat merencanakan penyelesaian penuh jalan ini pada 2025 dengan tambahan anggaran sebesar Rp35 miliar untuk pengaspalan dan pelebaran jalan.
Hingga saat ini, pembangunan jalan Bayang-Alahan Panjang telah menghabiskan dana dari APBD Provinsi Sumbar dengan rincian: Rp27,3 miliar pada 2021, Rp16,2 miliar pada 2022, Rp23 miliar pada 2023, dan Rp9,5 miliar pada 2024.
