Pertemuan itu, juga membahas tentang kondisi Kota Padang saat ini. Baik, masalah ekonomi dan masih banyaknya pengangguran, berakibatnya maraknya kriminal. Termasuk juga masalah pendidikan, terutama anak anak yang tak bisa menikmati pendidikan di sekolah yang dekat dengan lingkungan mereka.
Persoalan kesehatan, juga tak luput dari pembahasan. Sebab, khusus kesehatan ini, tak begitu dinikmati warga. Malah, warga bingung kemana harus berobat, karena ketidakmampuan ekonomi
Tokoh masyarakat, Sungai Lareh H. Ambiar, menyampaikan juga dalam pertemuan itu, agar warga berpikir dewasa. Apalagi, Pilkada serentak untuk memilih Walikota Padang dan Gubernur Sumbar semakin dekat.
“Saya mengajak masyarakat Kota Padang untuk memilih pemimpin yang mau bekerja keras untuk masyarakat. Disamping itu, imannya sangat baik dan berpihak untuk kepentingan masyarakat,” katanya.
Ketua DPRD Kota Padang, pada kesempatan itu, mengatakan, keterbasan anggaran, menyebabkan beberapa persoalan yang menjadi terkendala, sesuai dipaparkan warga. Juga disebabkan PAD yang diharapkan tak sesuai target.
“Bukannya, dewan tak menyetujui, tapi terkendala anggaran. Misalnya, target 900 miliar, terealisasi hanya Rp600 miliar, sehingga apa yang direncanakan tak sesuai target, termasuk pendidikan dan kesehatan,” katanya.
Ia juga menyebutkan, persoalan yang terjadi, tentu sangat berpengaruh kepada kepala daerah atau walikota. Sebab, ia sangat berperan dan bertanggungjawab, terkait kebijakan.”Tentu, kita berharap pemimpin kedepan, sosok yang mau berjuang untuk kepentingan masyarakat,” katanya. Adil
