Tokoh masyarakat Lubuk Kilang juga Ketua DPC Partai Gerindra Kota Padang, Verry Mulyadi, buka pesta demokrasi pemilihan ketua LPM Keluarhan Batu Gadang, periode 2022-2025.
Dalam sambutanya, Verry Mulyadi menyampaikan, moment pemilihan Ketua Lembaga Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (LPM) Batu Gadang ini sebagai momentum untuk mencari figur Ketua LPM yang mampu diterima di seluruh kalangan.

Sebab, kata Verry Mulyadi ini, pemilihan Ketua LPM ini ajang yang sangat luar biasa, untuk kita belajar berdemokrasi. Dan, siapapun yang terpilih kita wajib mendukung dan mensport nya
“Kalau kita ingin berkembang dan maju, kita harus begandengan tangan. Karena LPM adalah mitra untuk kelurahan. Dan, saya berharap LPM juga mampu menjalin senergitas seluruh lapisan masyarakat,” harapnya.
Diakhir sambutanya, Verry Mulyadi menyampaikan, Kelurahan Batu Gadang memiliki potensi yang sangat luar kalau kita sama sama mau membangun.
Pemilihan Ketua LPM itu juga dihadiri Kapolsek Lubuk Kilangan, Danramil beserta tokoh masyarakat lainnya.
Pemilihan Ketua LPM Batu Gadang dengan dengan jumlah pemilih 382 orang. Merupakan perwakilan RW/RT dan utusan berbagai lembaga lainnya. Dengan mengusung tiga calon kandidat.
Nomor urut 1 Ernadi SH. Nomor urut 2, Helmi Yetti. Nomor urut . 3, Afrizal Chan. Dan, hasilnya Helmy Yetty terpililh sebagai Ketua LPM Kelurahan Batu Gadang priode 2022 – 2025. Herman Jetar
