Generally, individuals with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 25
or higher and who have not achieved a sustainable weight loss through diet
and exercise may be considered eligible. Always consult a healthcare professional before
starting any medication to determine if it’s suitable for your health and weight loss goals.
Q: How do obesity drugs work?
Obesity drugs function in various ways, depending on the specific medication. Some work by increasing the body’s ability to burn fat,
while others help regulate hunger hormones or improve metabolism.
Your healthcare provider can provide more detailed information about how a particular drug works and its potential
benefits.
Q: What can I expect after taking a weight-loss medication?
When you start a weight-loss medication, you may experience initial side effects
like nausea, headaches, or digestive issues. Over time, many people notice reduced appetite, increased energy levels,
and noticeable weight loss. Consistency in dosage and lifestyle changes are key to achieving
the best results.
Q: Is it dangerous to lose weight very quickly?
Rapid weight loss can be risky if not done under
medical supervision. Unregulated dieting or extreme calorie restriction may

It’s important to approach weight loss safely and sustainably,
whether through medications or other methods.
Q: How long will I need to take a weight-loss drug?
The duration of treatment with weight-loss medications varies depending on the drug and individual response.
Some may be used short-term for a few weeks, while others are prescribed long-term under medical supervision. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding dosage and duration.
Q: What should I do when I stop taking obesity medicine?
Stopping weight-loss medication abruptly can lead to
regained weight or other side effects. To avoid this, discuss with your doctor the best way to discontinue
